Akinox Presents at Canada’s eHealth Conference & Tradeshow in Toronto
Akinox showcased its telehealth platform at eHealth 2019, Canada’s national eHealth conference and tradeshow, this past May in Toronto.
Thousands of health professionals came together, from Canada and beyond, at what was the 19th annual e-Health Conference and Tradeshow, to share ideas, expertise, successes, and challenges. This was enhanced by the conference organisers creating, for the first time, a completely open concept space. With an easier transition between tradeshow floor, sponsors, exhibits, and plenary rooms, the Akinox team benefited even more from what can only be described as a successful event.
The Akinox team was able to present its solutions, particularly Akinox eConsult, and also had the opportunity to meet with fellow innovators, movers, and shakers. We would like to thank Dr. Ed Brown, CEO of the Ontario Telehealth Network, for taking the time to discuss some of the most pressing telehealth needs in Canada.
“Unifying all levels of care from the Arctic to mega-hospitals”, Akinox’ theme at the conference, and the ability of the platform to adapt so efficiently to completely different realities, was warmly appreciated by many conference participants. Of particular note is the offline mode option of all Akinox solutions, allowing patients and healthcare professionals to work despite a slow or unreliable internet connection, typical of remote locations.
Another aspect appreciated by participants was how the reach of the platform will give researchers access to data on populations that are underrepresented in medical research, thus contributing to equality in healthcare.
The Akinox team is already busy implementing some of the ideas that emerged from conversations and impromptu brainstorming sessions held with fellow participants. We look forward to building on this success at upcoming such conferences. To see where we are heading next, please check our events page.
